Outstanding path accuracy is crucial to the result, particularly in robot-based applications, e.g. seam sealing, foaming, laser or waterjet cutting. A demo cell with a Motoman GP25 handling robot will display a solution by which the programmed and actual paths are always virtually identical, despite the high processing speed.
The new Motoman high-performance YRC1000 controller creates the prerequisites for this. The time for programming and optimising the path is thus significantly reduced.
Easy Teaching for collaborative operation and Smart Pendant
The Motoman HC10DT collaborative robot (DT stands for “Direct Teach”) can be optionally programmed via the robot arm. This “easy teaching” is made possible by additional function keys near the flange.
In addition, Yaskawa will be unveiling the next generation of programmers in the form of the new Smart Pendant. The main menu allows simple changing back and forth between the screens, as they are listed in a specific, easily traceable sequence. The Smart Pendant gives easy access to all functions. The user retains a perfect overview of all entries in the navigation menu, and in the event of a problem will always find his/her way back to the main menu. The Smart Pendant corresponds to the modern operating structure of a smartphone and is available for all handling robots with YRC1000 and YRC1000micro controllers.
Drive and control technology
Yaskawa also guarantees the highest degree of positioning accuracy by the drives of the current Sigma-7 servo system. With the latest addition, the Sigma-7 portfolio comprises amplifiers and motors for 200 V and 400 V in performance classes from 50 W to 15 kW. Direct drives with a high-resolution encoder (either absolute or incremental) in the torque range from 1.3 Nm to 240 Nm are also available. In addition, the servo system offers extended safety functions and satisfies the requirements of EN IEC 61508 SIL 3 and PL-e.
With cloudPanel and smartPanel, Yaskawa will also be showcasing two current Panel series in Stuttgart. They are characterized not only by their new, contemporary design, but also by the many pathbreaking features and functions for optimum operability and interconnectivity.
Yaskawa at the Fachforum Sicherheit + Automation 2018
Yaskawa will also be present, within the scope of Motek, at the Fachforum Sicherheit + Automation 2018 (Hall 8, Stand 8340). At 1:30 pm on Monday 8 October, HRC specialist Thomas Suchanek (Manager Robot Safety and Technical Documentation, Robotics Division of Yaskawa Europe GmbH) will be delivering a paper on “Safe HRC Application with the ‘Functional Safety Unit’ (FSU)”.
