Top Innovator 2009

VIPA elected for the second time in the hall of fame of medium sized enterprises:

Hallmark of Excellence „Top 100“ goes once again to Herzogenaurach

The SME sector is the engine of our economy, and innovation is its fuel. Nowhere else are more patents applied for, jobs created - and taxes paid. once a year therefore the project „Top100“ awards the 100 most innovative medium sized companies, and in 2009 VIPA was chosen again: The Mentor of the project, Lothar Späth, presented the valuable hallmark of excellence in person at a gala in Königswinter.

Renowned jury bestows promotional award

The choice of the 100 best medium sized enterprises is in the hands of a top-class jury consisting of top managers, economists and industry experts. Interested companies apply for the award in a two-step procedure. Here, a committee of the Vienna University of Economics examines in detail, how ideas are promoted, developed and accomplished within the company. The winners, including VIPA therefore, are permitted to advertise with the award for one year – and to be justly proud of it.

Emphatic praise for the innovation climate at VIPA

The Jury was impressed by how in Herzogenaurach, instead of creative chaos, a fresh supply of ideas is very systematically generated – for example by providing an innovation budget, for which project teams can apply internally at any time. This has paid off: Two-thirds of the projects, which were launched in this way were implemented at VIPA. Also exemplary: The good cooperation with the University of Applied Science in Nuremberg and the fact that the spirit of invention is explicitly desired, encouraged and rewarded from executive floor.

Strong rivalry, heavy competition

About 300 companies applied in that year. With its place in the Top 100 VIPA presents itself in excellent surroundings: 54 German market leaders and 22 global market leaders flank the automation specialist in this virtual „Hall of fame“. Interesting Detail: On average these firms earn twice as much with their innovations as other medium-sized enterprises.
